Chlorfluazuron is a benzoylurea fluorinated nitrogen-heterocyclic insecticide with unique mechanism of action, high efficiency, extremely low toxicity, and environmental friendliness. It can be used in vegetables, cotton, fruit trees, pine trees, etc. It mainly controls cabbage caterpillar, diamondback moth, cotton bollworm, apple and peach borer and pine caterpillar, etc. It has a remarkable control effect, especially for the control of vegetable pests.

Features of Chlorfluazuron

It has the effects of stomach poisoning and contact killing (inhibiting chitin synthesis), and has high efficacy against pests, but the efficacy is slow. The mechanism of action is to inhibit the synthesis of chitin, hinder the normal molting of insects, make the hatching of eggs, molting of larvae and abnormal development of pupae, and hinder the emergence of adults.

The pure product is white or yellow-white odorless crystalline powder with a melting point of 226.5°C (decomposition). Hardly soluble in water, easily soluble in ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons and alcohols. Stable under light and heat, stable under neutral and weak acidic conditions, easy to decompose when encountering alkali.

Applications of Chlorfluazuron

Benzoylurea insect growth regulators. It is mainly stomach poisoning, with strong contact killing effect, poor permeability and no systemic effect. The insecticidal mechanism is to inhibit the formation of chitin, hinder the normal molting of pests, cause egg hatching, larval molting, kidney development deformity, adult eclosion, and oviposition to be blocked, so as to achieve the insecticidal effect. The drug has high activity, slow action speed and long half-life in larvae. The agent is a broad-spectrum insecticide, which is effective against various Lepidoptera pests and Diptera, Orthoptera and Hymenoptera pests. It has excellent chemicalbook effect on insects on vegetables, and can also be used to control various pests on cabbage, cotton, tea trees, and fruit trees. For 1 to 2 instar larvae of vegetables such as diamondback moth, beet armyworm, Spodoptera litura and Pieris rapae, spray with 2000 to 4000 times of 5% EC at the peak growth stage, the effect lasts for 10 to 14 days, and the insecticidal effect reaches more than 90%. For example, during the hatching period of cotton bollworm eggs, spray with 1000-2000 times of 5% EC, and the insecticidal effect will be 80%-90% after 7 days. When applied at the recommended concentration, it will not cause phytotoxicity to crops, and is safe to bees and non-target beneficial insects.

Chlorfluazuron Control Objects and Application Methods

It has high activity against Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera, etc., and is ineffective against aphids, leafhoppers, and planthoppers.

1. To control cabbage caterpillar and diamondback moth, spray with 1000-4000 times of 5% EC at the 1st to 3rd instar larval stage. Appropriate adjustments can be made within the above concentration range according to the severity of the occurrence of pests and the size of the instars.

2. To control solanum 28-spot ladybug, potato ladybug, Spodoptera litura, cutworm, etc., spray with 5% EC 2000-3000 times during the initial hatching stage of larvae. 3. To control bean pod borer, use 1000-2000 times of liquid to spray once at the flowering stage of crops and the egg-filling stage of pests.

 Precautions for Chlorfluazuron

1. The appropriate period of application is about 3 days earlier than that of general organophosphorus and pyrethrin insecticides. It is best to spray at the young larvae stage, and the borer pests should be applied at the peak oviposition stage.

2. There is no systemic conduction effect, and the application must be uniform and thoughtful.

3. It is strictly forbidden to use in and around places such as mulberry gardens and fish ponds.

4. Cotton and cabbage are used no more than 3 times per crop, and citrus no more than 2 times. The safety interval is 21 days for cotton and citrus, and 7 days for cabbage.
