Herbicide Pendimethalin 96%TC Cas 40487-42-1

Pendimethalin is a contact-killing soil sealing treatment agent, which mainly inhibits the division of meristem cells, and works after the young shoots, stems and roots absorb the drug during the germination of weed seeds. The absorption part of dicotyledonous plants is hypocotyl, and that of monocotyledonous plants is young shoots. The symptoms of damage are that the growth of young shoots and secondary roots is inhibited.

Pendimethalin, also known as Chuyatong, Chucaotong, and Shitianbu, is a contact-killing soil sealing treatment agent, which mainly inhibits the division of meristematic cells, does not affect the germination of weed seeds, but acts during the germination process of weed seeds The young shoots, stems and roots work after absorbing the medicine. The absorption part of dicotyledonous plants is hypocotyl, and that of monocotyledonous plants is young shoots. The symptoms of damage are that the growth of young shoots and secondary roots is inhibited. The drug has a broad herbicidal spectrum and has good control effect on various annual weeds.

Applications of Pendimethalin

Dinitroaniline herbicides. Inhibits meristem cell division. During the germination process of weed seeds, the young shoots, stems and roots absorb the pesticide and work. The hypocotyl is the absorption part of dicotyledonous plants, and the young shoots of monocotyledonous plants. The symptoms of damage are that young shoots and secondary roots are inhibited.

Selective herbicide, control of annual grasses and some annual broadleaf weeds. Apply pre-emergence after sowing of cereals, corn and rice, or lightly mix with soil before sprouting of broad beans, cotton, peanuts and soybeans. In the vegetable field, it can be applied before seedling or transplanting, and it can also prevent tobacco sucker. Controls annual grasses and certain broadleaf weeds.

Pendimethalin herbicide action scope and application method

① Used in rice fields: rice fields are often used for spraying before germination of direct-seeding rice seeds for soil sealing treatment. Generally, 150-200 ml of 330 g/L pendimethalin EC is used per mu.

② For cotton fields: use 150-200 ml of 33% EC per mu and 15-20 kg of water in direct-seeding cotton fields, and spray the topsoil before sowing or after sowing and before emergence.

③ Used in rapeseed fields: After sowing and covering soil in direct seeding rapeseed fields, spray the topsoil, and use 100-150ml of 33% EC per mu. Spray topsoil 1 to 2 days before transplanting in rapeseed fields, and use 150 to 200 ml of 33% emulsifiable oil per mu.

④ Used in vegetable fields: in garlic, ginger, carrot, leek, onion, celery and other direct seeding fields, use 100-150 ml of 33% EC per mu, 15-20 kg of water, and spray the topsoil after sowing and covering soil. Peppers, tomatoes, leeks, scallions, onions, cauliflower, cabbage, cabbage, eggplant, etc. are transplanted to fields, use 100-150 ml of 33% EC per mu, 15-20 kg of water, and spray the topsoil 1-2 days before transplanting.

⑤ For soybean and peanut fields: for spring soybeans and spring peanuts, use 200-300 ml of 33% emulsifiable concentrate per mu, 15-20 kg of water, apply pesticides and mix soil after soil preparation, and then sow. For summer soybeans and summer peanuts, use 150-200 ml of 33% EC per mu, 15-20 kg of water, and spray the topsoil 1-2 days after sowing. If the pesticide is applied too late, it will easily cause phytotoxicity.

⑥ Used in cornfields: use 200-300 ml of 33% emulsifiable oil per acre for spring corn, 15-20 kg of water, and spray the soil surface within 3 days before emergence after sowing. Spraying too late may cause phytotoxicity to corn; Use 150-200 ml of 33% emulsifiable oil per mu, 15-20 kg of water, and spray the topsoil within 3 days before emergence after sowing.

⑦ For orchards: Before the weeds emerge, use 200-300 ml of 33% EC per mu, and spray the surface soil with water.

Phytotoxicity phenomenon occurs when pendimethalin is used

① Crop sowing is too shallow. The seeds are in the drug layer, and the amount of drug absorbed after germination is relatively large, so they are vulnerable to phytotoxicity. Therefore, the seed sowing depth is generally required to be 3 to 5 cm. In this way, the amount of medicine absorbed by the crop seeds in the early stage of germination is small, and although the bud body also absorbs the medicine when it passes through the medicine soil layer, because the absorbed medicine is relatively low, it generally does not cause phytotoxicity.

② Better soil moisture is required when spraying pesticides. Once the herbicide is bound to the soil, it is difficult to move. If the moisture content is good during pesticide application, the applied pendimethalin can spread downward and around to form a 2-3 cm thick medicinal soil layer to ensure the soil sealing effect. When the soil is dry after spraying, it is difficult to form a good medicinal soil layer, which will affect the control effect.

Therefore, in order to increase soil adsorption and reduce phytotoxicity to crops, the soil should be watered before application of pesticides to increase soil adsorption and reduce phytotoxicity to crops. If the soil humidity is too high after spraying, or if there is rain in a short period of time, the medicine may enter the crop sowing layer, and it is easy to cause phytotoxicity to crops, especially sensitive crops.

③ The dosage is too large. Where there are drug injuries, many of them are caused by the dosage exceeding the usage requirements. If it is used for weeding in vegetable fields, it is generally required not to exceed 120 ml per mu; or due to uneven spraying, excessive local dosage will cause phytotoxicity.

Therefore, when 33% pendimethalin EC is used in dry fields, the control effect should be guaranteed when the dosage per mu is generally above 150 ml. If the dosage is 120 ml per mu, the weeding effect will not be very good when the soil is dry. When using it, you can roughly calculate the reasonable dosage of pendimethalin according to the weed control effect in the crop-damaged fields, and the dosage should not be increased arbitrarily.

④ Medication is too late. When it is used for weeding of vegetable crops, if the vegetable seeds have germinated or even started to emerge, the drug will be absorbed by the young shoots of the crops after application of pendimethalin, which is easy to cause phytotoxicity. Almost all crops are prone to serious phytotoxicity when they are exposed to pendimethalin at the budding stage.

Therefore, there are strict requirements on the time of medication, and it cannot be too late. For example, use the compound agent 40% Acetochlor EC to prevent and control annual grass weeds and broad-leaved weeds in ginger, cotton, and corn fields. The pesticide must be applied after the crops are sown and before the seedlings, and it is strictly forbidden to use the pesticide during the seed arching period. Ginger uses 100-150 ml of preparation per mu, garlic field uses 125-175 ml of preparation per mu, and sprays soil with 40-60 kg of water to ensure safety and harmlessness.

⑤ Do not use in sensitive crops and sensitive periods of crops. Tomatoes, peppers and other solanaceous crops are sensitive to the drug, and the pesticide is usually applied before the crops are transplanted, and the soil should be moved as little as possible during transplanting to reduce the damage to the soil sealing layer. If the pesticide is applied after transplanting, directional spraying must be carried out in the field, and the medicinal liquid cannot be sprayed on the vegetable crops of the Solanaceae family, especially the young heart leaves. Misuse of pendimethalin at the 5-6 leaf stage after emergence of direct-seeding rice, especially when the dosage is large, usually shows symptoms of phytotoxicity 2 to 3 days after application when the temperature is high.

Choice of Pendimethalin

No matter what kind of pendimethalin products you choose, cotton farmers must prepare enough herbicides according to the recommended amount of the product, and do not use excessive amounts. The medicine is three-point poisonous. All herbicides have a certain impact on the germination of cotton seeds. And don't use it blindly.

Pendimethalin is a contact-killing herbicide, and the key to good control effect is that the drug film layer is not damaged during use. If the drug film layer is destroyed, the germinating weeds cannot touch the pendimethalin herbicide. Weeds don't die. Therefore, when applying pesticides, it is better to remember that the chemical film layer is not damaged. Some cotton farmers spray pendimethalin first, then soil preparation, then columbine film, and then sow. This operation method greatly damages the chemical film layer. Although pendimethalin has a certain control effect, it is inevitable that the weed control effect is poor.
